END OF SUMMER DOG POOL PAWTY
Please join us for the End of Summer Pool Pawty at Liberty Lagoon. Please be advised that this is a dog-friendly event. Participants will encounter dogs in various conditions (i.e. wet, unleashed, etc.) For the safety of everyone and every dog, all participants must comply with the “Pool Pawty” rules that can be found at LibertyLagoon.com.
LIBERTY LAGOON
Sept. 16
Session 1: 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (dogs under 40 pounds) Session 2: 1-3 p.m. (dogs over 40 pounds)
Session 3: 3:30-5:30 p.m. (All dogs)
Sept. 17
Session 1: 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (All dogs)
Event limit 100 dogs per session.
Programs
For the Summer of 2023, BREC will be the recipient of the American Red Cross Centennial Program. With this we will be able to serve the community with scholarships for swim lessons at our facilities. Space is limited and all programs are first-come, first-served.

BABY BUBBLERS
Parents and children learn together to increase a child’s comfort level in the water and build a foundation of basic skills, such as arm and leg movements and breath control. This course is fun-filled and helps introduce water safety concepts, encouraging healthy recreational habits that your entire family can enjoy. You are welcome to come to as many classes as you would like.

WATER EXPLORATION CLASS
This class teaches the beginning stages of swimming including blowing bubbles, leg kicks, submerged face, arm actions and water safety. Class is taught in water depth of 3’6”.

HERO APPRECIATION DAY
BREC shows their appreciation for first responders and military with Hero Day! All Military, Local EBR Police/Sheriff, Firefighters, and EMTs will receive FREE admission (with proper ID).

Patrons with disabilities will be allowed to enjoy the amenities with safe and fun involvement, while keeping sensory issues to a minimum.

MOVIE AT THE LAGOON
Enjoy some time with your kids and watch a movie while swimming at Liberty Lagoon during our extended hours. Grab your towels and one of our innertubes, then just sit back and relax with our movie night. Movies will be posted on our website: LibertyLagoon.com when final selections have been made.

BREC’S LARGEST SWIM LESSON
BREC’s Largest Swim Lesson, was created to build awareness about the fundamental importance of teaching children to swim to prevent drowning. Swimming is a life-saving skill for children and a vital tool to prevent drowning, the second leading cause of unintended, injury-related death for U.S. children ages 1-14.

SENIOR DAY
National Senior Citizens Day recognizes contributions senior citizens make in communities across the city of Baton Rouge. BREC would like to recognize them by rewarding them with private swim time.
